Born in England, raised in Canada and educated in New York, Ted Faiers (1908-1985) also found his way to Memphis College of Art, where he taught for more than 30 years. All the while, Faiers made art – paintings, drawings, woodcuts and lithographs. He kept almost everything he created, the style of which changed significantly over time - from western landscapes in the 1940s to abstracts in the 1950s to pop art in the 1960s to paintings with 3-D body parts in the mid-1970s.
