Born and raised in Hot Springs, AR, Alexandra Eastburn (b. 1987) moved to Memphis, TN in 2006 to attend Memphis College of Art where she earned a BFA in Fine Art with a major in drawing and a minor in art history. Her experimental art practice is characterized by automatic and intuitive drawing and painting, often relying upon a mixture of dream, memory, imagination and life drawing to depict ethereal and surrealistic botanical scenes and subconscious realms teeming with mythical creatures. Her works have been exhibited at the Garrison Art Center in Garrison, NY; 166 Mott Street in New York, NY; the Holy Underground in Baltimore, MD; Portland Museum of Modern Art in Portland, OR; Panel_LA in Los Angeles, CA; Glitch Gallery and Crosstown Art Bar in Memphis, TN.
